Journal of Henan Agricultural Sciences is a monthly scientific journal in agronomy, governed and sponsored by Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and published by the editorial office of the journal.It was founded in 1972 in name of Henan Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology, and changed to its current title in 1986. The aim of the journal, as a national leading journal, is to facilitate the development of the disciplines, disseminate scientific and technological achievements, promote academic exchanges, and contribute to the progress of modern agriculture.
The journal publishes basic and applied research reports.The publishing scope includes new achievements, technologies, advancements, processes, and theories in crop cultivation and genetic breeding, agricultural resources and environment, plant protection, horticulture, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, deep processing of agricultural products, quality and safety of agricultural products, and agricultural information technology.
Since its inception 50 years ago, the academic quality and influence of Journal of Henan Agricultural Sciences have been continuously improving.In 1992, it was selected in the first edition of "A Guide to the Core Journal of China". Since 2000, it was elected as the "Chinese Core Journal" for seven times.It is indexed by "Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations", "Chinese Agriculture and Forestry Core Journal", and "RCCS Core Journal".From 2011 to 2018, it was continuously selected in "Chinese Science Citation Database(CSCD)".In 2022, the composite impact factor of CNKI is 2.037, and the compositive impact factor of CNKI is 1.513 .The journal is continuously indexed in the "Report of World Impact Clout Index (WJCI) of Scientific and Technological Periodicals".

Journal of Henan Agricultural Science has received many awards.In 2002, it won the third National Excellent Agricultural Journal Award.In 2004, it won the first prize in the technical category of the Fourth National Excellent Agricultural Journal Award.In 2006, it won the first prize in the technical category of the Fifth National Agricultural Journal “Gold Plow” Award.In 2022 it won the Journal Award of Henan Excellent publishing Award.
